Can anyone help me with suggestions for wedding readings?
I have been asked to read a few selections at my brothers wedding. They do not want anything traditional such as 1Corinthians 13 or Shakespeare. Something that is not done alot perhaps from literature. The bride to be loves Nicholas Sparks and I also remember reading a slection from The Little Prince from a book of wedding readings that began Come and play with me proposed the little prince. What did you have read at your wedding? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

- I love these two readings: Art of Marriage A Good Marriage must be created. In the Art of Marriage, the little things are the big things; It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say, "1 love you," at least once each day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives; It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family. It is speaking of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other atmosphere in which each can grow. It is finding room for the things of the spirit. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is not only marrying the right partner. It is being the right partner The Art of a Good Marriage Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. I have more on my website.
- My wedding theme was hearts and red so I had the 1 Corinthians 13 but I also had Genis 2:18-24...it says something like... how God created everything on earth for Adam, and he created the animals to be his companian, but he wasn't happy so God put him to sleep and took the rib and closed it with sand and made woman. Then Adam was happy and called her Eve. This is why man must leave is parents and become one with his wife... I liked it. If you ask the prist they should have a few suggestions. I think there is a lot in Songs also about marriage...if you look in the back of a bible it has a list of things that you can find easier, if you are sad it shows different verses that can make you feel better or if you are getting married it has ideas of what verses you can use. I didn't know that you could have anything other than bible verses in the reading? Make sure you check before you fall in love with something you can't use!! Have fun! Good Luck!
