Wedding readings? Who should be doing the wedding readings at my wedding? Is there any rules or traditions of who usually does it and what it's supposed to be?

Can anyone help me with suggestions for wedding readings? I have been asked to read a few selections at my brothers wedding. Can you help me choose readings for my Catholic wedding that are different and not too religious? So originally I was planning with my fiancé to not have any readings at my wedding in a Catholic church, but after some thought I think I may want to have some! What are nice, non-religious wedding readings? I am getting married in December to the absolute love of my life and soul mate. We have been together for 5 years and neither of us are religious but we found a church that would marry us there anyway since we reallly wanted a beautiful setting for our wedding. But when i typed in 'Wedding Readings' its all readings for like, the bride n groom to say to each other (eg. From the day i met you...etc). I don't think my mum can say that to them. Problem with the minister -- need ideas for wedding readings.? Okay, so the minister we have met with once. He wants to use some stories and ideas which refer to the obedience of the wife, even though I said I did not want to use that language.
